After you've gotten through all the travel notes herein, if you
still need to book travel, we've even included an interactive
travel search for your convenience.
Interactive Travel Search on Expedia.com:
Airports:
> The main airport serving Rhode Island is T.F.
Green Airport (PVD). Distance from PVD to Newport is about
28 miles / 45 minutes.
It is a small airport, so it's quite possible that flights will
require a connection. Some markets do fly direct. See T.F.
Green's web page or call 401-737-8222 for more information
on which airlines have direct flights to Green.
> Boston's
Logan Airport is another
option if you're looking to fly direct, however it is about 1
hour and 45 minutes (75 miles) north of Newport. The time you
may save flying direct into Boston you will likely lose finding
your way out of the airport and driving to Newport. Traffic is
especially heavy on Friday afternoons.
Discount Airfares:
> In case you fly American
Airlines, we have made special arrangements to provide a 5%
discount off the lowest applicable published fare to either Boston
or Providence/TF Green. Discounts up to 10% may also be available
for any purchases made at least 30 days prior to departure.
Please note: This discount MAY NOT result in the lowest available
fare. Sometimes internet fares or other specials will be cheaper.
To make reservations from within the US on American Airlines using
this discount call: 800-433-1790. Refer to STARfile # 7795AA
& Group Reference Code "cerbotandon." International
guests call your local reservations number and refer to the same
codes.
**Discount is not valid on internet or other discounted fares
(senior, child, miltary, etc.).
Discount on Car Rental:
> We DO recommend renting
a car in Rhode Island. The drives around Newport are scenic
and cabs are not likely to drive to any destination like they
are in Manhattan. In general, most rental car rates are cheap
if you book in advance.
> American also extends their discount to Avis
Rental Cars. Call 1-800-331-1600 to take advantage of
that rate and reference AWD D003737.
Please note: This code MAY NOT result in the lowest available
rate. Sometimes internet fares or other specials will be cheaper.
